We are on the cusp of the spring fishing season! With that comes the uncertainity of weather and water conditions. Watch for some of the smaller streams to become discolored with pre-runoff, low elevation snow melt.
The South Fork of the Snake River is experiencing a drastic increase in flows. Currently it is at 4050cfs (up from 950cfs on 3/18). It is anticipated to go up to 5000cfs by the week's end.
Midges and soon Baetis (BWO) will be the normal dry fly fare. Be on the lookout for Neumoras, Capnias and Skwalas. Have all your season favorite patterns on hand; and be willing to change between nymphs, streamers and dry flies as conditions dictate.
Our snowpack is current at 100%! Get out and enjoy the change of seasons. Be prepared for weather conditions to change abruptly and withour notice.
