Fishing Report - 4.18.21
Spring is slowly tightening her grip in the valley and other close areas. Rising waters aren’t stopping the fish from biting however. Now is the primetime to squeeze in a few more days of fishing before runoff puts a halt to the party.
On the upper Snake, midges are still the dominant hatch with trickles of BWOs and Skwala Stoneflys. Try using Smoke Jumpers and Antonio’s Quil Midge in sizes #18, Extended Body BWOs in an #18, and Rogue Foam Skwalas for some action all day!
Over the hill, things are heating up! BWOs are making a strong appearance with midges still hanging around. Nymphing and streamers are the name of the game along with some dryfly fishing. Try Scotty’s Midge #18 and Extended Body BWOs #18 for success on top. Pat’s Rubber Legs, Duracells and Lightening Bugs are seeing action below. Try stripping Scott’s Double Bunny and Sex Dungeons for that chance at large fish.
Have fun out there! - Jon Scola
