Fishing Report 7-16-2019
The fishing continues to improve In the Upper Snake River drainage with good weather in the forecast as the last remnants of the 2019 run-off season leaves the valley. No changes in the water discharge from the Jackson lake dam since July 8th at 2340 CFS. Reports from Wilson Bridge south showing signs of summer with fish being had on topwater as well as with streamers and nymph rigs.
Productive flies Purple Haze, Hair wing PMD’s, Willy’s Ant, Purple Cubbies, Redemption PMD. Subsurface patters working well are Lightning Bugs, JJ’s Specials and Butt Monkeys.
The Green River has been fluctuating with fishing being hit or miss depending on date. Look for the Drainage to fish better once flows drop. The go to dry is a Grey Drake variance. Fishing recently has been turning on a bit later in the day. If the topwater action slows, try a Pat’s Rubber Legs or a small bait fish imitation.
