Patagonia Stealth Atom Sling

As a longtime user of Patagonia gear, I was elated when they launched the Stealth Atom Sling a few years ago. I have carried a Patagonia Atom pack as my “purse” for as long as I can remember. The introduction of the Stealth Atom Sling allowed me to seamlessly transition my favorite daily everything holder, to my fishing gear. I was toying with the idea of getting a waist pack, but to me the sling just makes so much more sense in all fishing applications; especially, because it doesn’t ride low enough on the body to get wet when you are wade fishing in deep water.

It has a large middle pocket that holds everything from a sandwich and extra jacket, to a few decent sized fly boxes. I love that I can fit my phone and pocketknife in the front strap stash pocket. In addition to that, there is a water bottle holder on the side and a hard-sided, fold-out front workstation. The workstation is perfect when you don’t have a lot of space to work with- like on a float tube where I normally am. The tool and tippet holders make grabbing the essentials easy.  It’s just big enough to get by for a day hike and fish, yet still small enough to go with you on the boat and not take up too much space. The best part about the Stealth Atom Sling is that, if worn properly, you don’t have to take it off all day. You simply pull it around your body to access the bag portion, or to put it away while you fish. As a person that loses things a lot- this is very appealing. The pack comes in 3 different colors, so you are sure to find one that fits your style. I don’t go on any fishing excursions, no matter where, anymore without my Stealth Atom Sling to carry all of my needs for the day!
